The Foxboro FCM10E is a fiber optic communication module for the Foxboro I/A Series distributed control system. The “FCM” stands for Fiber Communication Module, “10E” identifies the specific module as a fiber optic interface. This module provides high-speed, long-distance communication between I/A Series controllers, I/O racks, and remote I/O using fiber optic cables. The FCM10E converts the electrical signals from the I/A Series backplane into optical signals for transmission over fiber, and vice versa.
