The Triconex 2381 is a Triple Module Redundancy (TMR) processor module that serves as the central brain of the Triconex Safety Instrumented System (SIS). It is one of the most critical components in any Triconex rack, executing safety logic, performing voting calculations across three identical processors, and communicating with field I/O modules. The “2381” designation identifies it as a standard processor module within the Series 1 family. This module runs the Triconex proprietary operating system and executes user-configured safety logic programs (written in the TriStation 1131 software) to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment from hazardous process conditions. Every Triconex rack requires at least one 2381 to function.
