The Triconex 9761-210 is a dedicated serial communication module for the Tricon safety instrumented system. This board provides two independent serial communication ports: one RS-232 (DB-9) and one RS-485 (terminal block), allowing the Tricon controller to communicate with legacy field devices, remote I/O racks, modems, and third-party equipment that only support serial protocols. The “210” designation specifies the dual-port configuration (one of each type). The module supports Modbus RTU master/slave, DF1 slave, and Tricon native protocols. It is fully triple modular redundant, meaning both serial ports have three independent communication processors that vote on every transmitted and received byte.
