The Foxboro FBM218 is a versatile communication module for the I/A Series DCS that supports both Modbus RTU (serial) and Modbus TCP (Ethernet) protocols. This module allows the I/A Series controller to communicate with a vast array of third-party devices that support Modbus, including PLCs, RTUs, smart sensors, power meters, and building automation systems. The FBM218 acts as a Modbus master on the Modbus network, polling all connected devices and exchanging process data with the I/A Series controller. It supports up to 128 Modbus devices on a single module, making it one of the highest-density communication modules in the I/A Series family.
