The Foxboro FBM219 is a high-speed digital input module designed for the Foxboro I/A Series distributed control system (DCS). The “FBM” stands for Fieldbus Module, “219” identifies the specific module type as a high-speed digital input. This module accepts discrete (on/off) signals from field devices such as proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, limit switches, and pushbuttons at very high scan rates. The FBM219 is engineered for applications where millisecond-level response times are critical, such as high-speed sequencing, encoder counting, and fast interlock logic. It connects directly to the I/A Series backplane and communicates with the controller via the high-speed I/A bus.
