The Triconex 3011 is a 16-channel digital input module that reads discrete (on/off) signals from field devices. The “3011” designation identifies it as a standard 16-channel digital input in the Series 1 family. This is one of the most commonly used modules in any Triconex rack, providing the interface between the safety controller and the physical world of pushbuttons, limit switches, proximity sensors, pressure switches, and solenoid valve feedback. Each of the 16 channels is opto-isolated, providing 500V RMS isolation from the backplane to protect the CPU from voltage spikes and ground loops. The module is safety-rated and defaults all inputs to a known safe state upon power loss.
