The Foxboro FBM216 is an Ethernet communication module for the I/A Series Distributed Control System. This module provides standard Ethernet TCP/IP connectivity between the I/A Series controller and external systems such as historians, asset management platforms, engineering workstations, and corporate networks. The FBM216 supports both Modbus TCP and native Foxboro I/A Series Ethernet protocols, allowing seamless data exchange with third-party systems. It is the primary module for plant-wide data collection, remote monitoring, and system integration. Unlike the fieldbus modules (FBM207, FBM214, FBM215) that connect to field devices, the FBM216 connects to plant-level and enterprise-level systems.
