Power Consumption: < 3 Watts
MTBF: > 200,000 Hours
Functional Features:
Three-Parameter Synchrocheck: Simultaneously monitors voltage magnitude, frequency, and phase angle
Permissive Logic: Only issues a “Close Permit” signal when all three parameters are within limits AND the breaker is ready
Dead-Bus Detection: Detects loss of grid voltage and blocks breaker closure to prevent islanding
Slip Frequency Monitoring: Tracks the slip frequency (difference between generator and grid frequency) and calculates time-to-close
Break-Before-Make Logic: Ensures the old breaker is fully open before permitting the new breaker to close
Event Recording: Records all synchrocheck events (permit issued, permit denied, close executed) with millisecond time stamps
Performance Parameters:
Phase Angle Measurement Accuracy: ±0.5 Degrees
Frequency Measurement Accuracy: ±0.01 Hz
Voltage Measurement Accuracy: ±0.5%
Close Permit Response Time: < 20 ms (from conditions met to output active)
Isolation: Inputs to Outputs > 1500V DC
Material Composition:
PCB: 4-Layer FR-4
Voltage Sensing: Precision Potential Transformers (PTs) or Resistive Voltage Dividers
Isolation: Analog Devices AD202 Isolation Amplifiers
Relay Outputs: Omron G6K or Panasonic AQY Series Signal Relays (5A Contact Rating)
Connectors: Spring-Clamp Terminal Blocks for PT Inputs + DB9 for Digital I/O
